The terms governing your use of Signal Tennis
Signal Tennis provides data-driven tennis coaching analytics services, including:
Access to the Portal requires an account provided by Signal Tennis. The public website is freely accessible to all visitors.
Parental consent for players under 16. For players under 16, a parent or guardian must provide consent before the player's data is processed through Signal Tennis. Consent can be provided via the secure token-link sent by your coach, or by submitting a signed physical consent form. See our Parental Consent Information for details.
Cross-portal video display. Video recorded of matches, squad sessions, or any other scenario in which more than one player appears may be displayed in the Portal accounts of every consented player who appears in the footage (for example, both players in a match, or all squad members present in a training video). Video is only displayed when every identifiable player in frame (or their parent or guardian, where the player is under 16) has given active consent. If any player in frame has no consent on file, the video will not be displayed in any portal.
Anonymised peer comparisons. The Portal may show you or your child squad-wide aggregates, benchmarks, and anonymised peer comparisons: for example, your or your child's rank within a squad or age group, displayed against anonymised peers (rank positions only, no other players' names displayed). Your or your child's own anonymised rank may similarly be shown to other consented players in the same group.
Key terms used in these Terms of Use (including "Public Tennis Data") are defined in the Privacy Policy.
If you are provided with a Portal account:
When using the Signal Tennis website and Portal, you agree not to:
All content produced by Signal Tennis (including but not limited to coaching reports, performance analyses, statistical charts, video overlays, visualisations, blog articles, educational resources, and website design) is the intellectual property of Signal Tennis unless otherwise stated.
Portal users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view and download their own reports and charts for personal, non-commercial use only. This licence does not extend to:
Match video footage and technique videos provided through the Portal are for coaching review purposes only. Players and parents may share their own individual performance data privately but may not publish it publicly without consent.
Signal Tennis retains all rights in anonymised and group-level data derived from Portal content and may, subject to any applicable consent given on the Parental Consent Form or its adult equivalent, use, publish, share, license, or sell that anonymised data for commercial purposes (for example: research publications, coaching partnerships, federation data sharing, and commercial analytics products). Once data has been irreversibly anonymised under GDPR Recital 26, it is no longer personal data; Signal Tennis's rights to the resulting outputs are independent of any individual's data-protection rights over the original personal data.
Signal Tennis is permitted to process Public Tennis Data (as defined in the Privacy Policy) as part of its service, including combining Public Tennis Data with Portal data to produce reports, analytics, and derivative works. Public Tennis Data remains subject to any licence terms imposed by its original publisher.
Signal Tennis strives to provide accurate coaching analytics and statistical data. However:
Signal Tennis does not provide medical, physiotherapy, or sports science advice. Any physical training recommendations should be discussed with a qualified professional.
To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law:
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Irish law.
Signal Tennis reserves the right to suspend or terminate your Portal access at any time if:
Upon termination, your right to access the Portal ceases immediately. Data deletion is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The Portal uses third-party services for hosting and content delivery (Heroku, Cloudflare R2, Bunny.net). Your use of the Portal is also subject to the terms and conditions of these service providers. Signal Tennis is not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services.
Signal Tennis may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the website or Portal after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
